USCar Trader import service
Choose a specific vehicle. Where data is available, its detail page shows the import cost calculation. We assess any possible duty benefit with you before purchase.
Important: A 0% EU import-duty rate may be available for a vehicle covered by Regulation (EU) 2026/1455 that has US origin and is imported directly into the EU. CETA may apply to a vehicle with preferential Canadian origin. Whether the requirements are met is assessed for the individual case. Please contact us before purchase; we review the possible duty benefit and provide non-binding support through the process. Import VAT and other costs are assessed separately.
CarHub · Cadillac
The Cadillac Escalade ESV is the long-wheelbase flagship of America's full-size luxury SUV world — a genuine three-row, eight-seat statement car with a big V8, a cavernous cabin and presence that nothing European quite replicates.

Model profile
The ESV (Escalade Stretch Vehicle) is the extended version of the Escalade, riding on a longer wheelbase for a far bigger third row and cargo bay.
Powertrain and equipment
The heart of the ESV has long been a big pushrod V8.
The ESV is a single long-wheelbase full-size SUV body with seating for seven or eight.
Vehicle selection
Availability is strong right across the country. Typical import candidates are 2016–2022 ESVs with 40,000 to 110,000 miles, and the diesel is increasingly sought after by importers.
The ESV is for the buyer who genuinely needs — or wants — maximum room, towing muscle and flagship presence, and who is comfortable with the fuel and size of a full-size American SUV.

Pre-purchase review
The Escalade ESV is robust in its fundamentals but has recognised weak spots tied to its complexity. On V8 cars, the Active Fuel Management / Dynamic Fuel Management cylinder-deactivation system is the classic culprit — collapsed lifters and camshaft wear, sometimes with elevated oil consumption, are the issues to check for and to hear on a cold start.
Germany and Europe
US ESVs run DOT/SAE headlights, no rear fog lamp, MPH clusters and US-market navigation and radio bands.
Typical approval work includes fitting a rear fog lamp, adjusting or replacing headlights to ECE specification, verifying side markers and indicators, and correcting the speedometer/odometer data for the German papers.
USCar Trader services
As a buyer based in Germany, you do not have to inspect the vehicle yourself in the United States or Canada. Within the agreed scope, USCar Trader can coordinate document review, a separately commissioned on-site inspection and purchase processing.
Covered inspection points are agreed in advance. An on-site inspection records condition at the appointment and is not a guarantee.
Next step: Before commissioning, USCar Trader and the customer agree which document, history, inspection and transaction checks suit the vehicle and are included in the service. This records what was actually checked.
Import process
We begin with selection — petrol or diesel, generation, drive and trim.
Questions and answers
For buyers who want genuine full-size space, towing and flagship presence, yes — and the US is where the supply and choice are.
No, not automatically. A 0% EU import-duty rate may be available for a vehicle covered by Regulation (EU) 2026/1455 that has US origin and is imported directly into the EU. CETA may apply to a vehicle with preferential Canadian origin. Whether the requirements are met is assessed for the individual case. Please contact USCar Trader before purchase; we review the possible duty benefit and provide non-binding support. Import VAT and other costs are assessed separately.
Import VAT and other taxes or costs are assessed separately under the applicable rules and the circumstances of the individual case. A blanket answer for every vehicle would not be reliable.
The diesel is far easier on fuel for European use; the 6.2 V8 offers the classic Escalade sound and performance. Both are strong towers.
V8 AFM/DFM lifter and camshaft wear, 8L90 transmission shudder, and air-suspension or Magnetic Ride component wear.
Seven or eight, with a genuinely usable third row and large cargo area thanks to the long wheelbase.
Yes, via TÜV individual approval with lighting changes and documentation work.
